Tapping the Transformational Power of Networks (offered through the Building Powerful Networks program). This is a pivotal time to work cooperatively and take advantage of a new political era—joining forces to create cohesive strategies for broad-scale, sustained social change. Networks are a powerful means to increase the capacity, impact and efficiency of social change organizations. As part of an effective network, groups can collectively move more hearts and minds, as well as shift culture and policy on a larger scale. This highly interactive workshop supports participants to find alignment across a broad range of strategies and develop a culture of inclusive practice that addresses the divisions that often undermine collaboration.
Building Organizational Sustainability through Effective Fund Development and Communications: This multi-day training is based on a peer learning model that support participants to engage with each other. Sharing personal stories is a key strategy within the learning space for team building, identifying values, sharpening skills for fundraising success and creating a plan of action. Ultimately, this training seeks to inspire and empower participants to step boldly into their identities and role both a donor and fundraiser. Outcomes of the workshop include:
- To develop technical skills that will enhance our capacity to raise funds from multiple sources (individuals and foundations) more effectively.
- To cultivate greater self-confidence and empowerment as donors and fundraisers by exploring our personal memories, experiences and connections to philanthropy (giving time, talent and treasure).
- To develop stories, which will be used in one-on-one meetings, e-appeals and direct mail campaigns.
- To create individual work-plans, as well as sketch of a 12-month organizational fundraising plan.
